Enrique G. Sanchez, CPA
Enrique Sanchez, CPA, started his career in San Diego after graduating from the University of San Diego (USD) in 1997. His first job out of college was in Public Accounting working for the largest local firm, Considine and Considine. From 1997 to 2000 he was a staff accountant gaining his first experience in working with companies in various industries, with heavy emphasis in Real Estate Taxation & Construction. Devoting many hours to tax compliance and accounting treatment for transactions. He prepared corporate tax returns, partnership tax returns, and individual tax returns and also performed financial statement reviews/audits for real estate developers, mortgage bankers, brokers, and manufacturers.
In 2000 after acquiring his experience in both tax and audit, Enrique became a CPA and moved on to Peterson & Co, CPAs as supervisor of the Tax department. He gained further knowledge in Real Estate & Construction taxation in addition to Manufacturing and Internet technologies. It was here with the mentoring of the lead Tax partner, Enrique took his knowledge of taxation & accounting and devoted more time to tax planning strategies, merger and acquisition, due diligence, and consulting on various client related issues. It was here Enrique worked not only with Privately held business but also Publicly traded companies.
In 2003 Enrique moved his family from San Diego to Temecula and in 2004, he made a difficult decision to leave Peterson and Co, now known as Squar Milner Peterson, to became Manager of Temecula's largest CPA firm at the time, Swenson Advisors, CPAs. Enrique took his tax, accounting, and business knowledge and applied it to the Temecula communities, along with the surrounding counties, San Diego, Orange County and Riverside. He devoted many hours in the real estate, homebuilding, construction and manufacturing industries.
In 2006 Enrique left Swenson Advisors, CPAs and started E.G. Sanchez & Associates, CPAs. Today with over 21 years of Public Accounting experience, Enrique devotes his practice to be all encompassing business advisory service firm. Not only is the firm the best in the business when it comes to Real Estate, Construction, Manufacturing, and Internet taxation, but the consulting side led by Enrique is like no other.
In his spare time, Enrique loves spending time with his wife, Helen, and kids - Chasyte, Zachary, and Ryan. He enjoys watching movies, traveling, weightlifting, jogging, and drinking good wine.
Brian Mendez, CPA, CFE
Brian began his professional career in financial planning with a mid-size wealth management firm. He transitioned to public accounting in 2006. Since his transition, Brian has gained extensive experience in a variety of audit and consulting engagements. His audit experience spans both publicly and privately held companies including the Sarbanes-Oxley act. His experience ranges in a variety of industries including technology, manufacturing, oil and gas, retail, construction, contracting and non-profit. His consulting experience includes forensic accounting, litigation support, expert testimony and evaluation of internal controls.
Brian has spoken regionally at various accounting conferences on auditing and accounting updates.
Brian is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as wells as the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Brian graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Business Economics, with an emphasis in Accounting.
Timothy W. Peet, MT, EA
Timothy graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting in 1996. He later graduated from The University of Denver with a Masters of Taxation in 1998. He is currently licensed as an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service.
In 2001, Tim joined a regional accounting & tax firm in southwest Riverside County as a staff tax accountant. In Oct 2004, Tim (also a Logistics Sergeant with the US Army Reserve) took a leave of absence and was deployed to the city of Mosul, Iraq for 14 months. During his deployment, he managed logistics for the 25th BSB - 1st Brigade, 25 Infantry Division (Stryker) to which he received the Meritorious Service Medal. Upon redeployment, Tim returned to the regional firm in 2006 till his departure in 2007. In 2007, he joined an all in-house tax team for the largest family owned home builder and heavy construction company as a senior tax accountant. As part of the in-house team, Tim was responsible for the preparation of the corporate returns, as well as, some of the high-wealth family members. Tim retired from the US Army Reserve in 2008 and in 2012 he left the corporate world to join E.G. Sanchez & Associates. Tim’s duties at E.G. Sanchez & Associates include providing accounting services, tax compliance and tax minimization strategies for individuals, trusts, partnerships and corporations.
Tim is a member of California Society of Certified Public Accountants, The American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Tim is married with two boys ages 25 and 7. He is a Cub Scout Den Leader with Pack 329 in the Temecula Valley and enjoys spending time going to car shows with his oldest and watching his youngest pursue a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Karen is an Army veteran who decided to pursue a career in public accounting after her military service. She started as an auditor in a large regional Ohio firm, but decided to get more heavily involved in the tax compliance and accounting side of the profession. Since returning to her native state of California, she has worked full time in the tax department, working on all sizes of clients in a variety of industries.
Sr. Management Accountant
Sheryl Lejano is a Senior Accountant at E.G. Sanchez and Associates who works with clients on accounting and tax projects. After spending nearly a decade working in accounting, Sheryl has the experience and knowledge to help businesses analyze financial data, prepare financial statements, tax returns, and projections. She graduated from California State University San Marcos with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Outside of the office, Sheryl enjoys spending time with her daughter Avery, and fiancé Lee. Besides spending time with her family and friends, she likes cooking, watching movies, exploring new restaurants, and going to concerts. Sheryl supports various charitable organizations and does volunteer work for the elderly in the local community.
Director of Operations
Erik Sanchez is the Director of Operations at E.G. Sanchez & Associates, CPAs. He began his career with E.G. Sanchez & Associates, CPAs as an accounting assistant in 2014. Throughout the last six years he learned the processes of an accounting firm by learning to prepare personal and business tax returns, preparing financial statements, and working closely with all department managers. This aquired knowledge has assisted Erik to ensure the firm is operating smoothly.
He also is currently a full-time student pursuing his degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Prior to coming to E.G. Sanchez & Associates in 2014, he worked in Community Banking for six years helping local business thrive in varied markets.When Erik is not working or going to school, he enjoys playing the piano, hiking, boxing, and going to the beach with friends and family.
Yovani Ramirez is an Accounting Associate at E.G. Sanchez & Associates. He assists Staff Accountant’s with various tasks, including forecasts, comparisons, and bookkeeping. He graduated from University of California San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Systems. While in San Diego he interned at a local organization focusing on promoting the use of renewable energy at both the local level and worldwide. After work and on the weekends, he is learning to cook new dishes, playing basketball and trying new games.
As the office administrative assistant, Evee brings over 10 years of customer service and business professionalism. While working for EG Sanchez & Associates, she functions in a variety of roles including one on one client services, scheduling, contact management, assisting with staff projects, and other general clerical needs. Her background in customer service has strengthened her qualifications to maintain a positive working relationship with all clientele. Her bilingual skills both written and oral help accommodate customer needs.
In her spare time, Evee enjoys spending time with her family and close friends. Her hobbies include art projects and trying new foods.
Claudia recently joined E.G Sanchez and Associates in a new role as the Administrator Coordinator. She comes with 20 years of extensive experience with client management, administrative tasks, scheduling and correspondence. Having held positions in diverse business fields, Claudia works diligently to accommodate the needs of our clients. Claudia interacts directly with potential and existing clients, in providing excellent customer service and administrative support. She is bilingual in Spanish both oral and written which helps with our Spanish speaking client’s needs. She works closely with all departments and strives to provide the best support for staff and for our clients. Claudia aims for excellence and customer satisfaction here at E.G Sanchez and associates.
On her time off, she enjoys family time, trip to the beach, watching movies, sports or going for a drive.
Matthew is currently an Accounting Assistant at E.G. Sanchez and Associates who aides in bookkeeping, comparisons and other various tax and accounting projects. Prior to joining E.G. Sanchez & Associates he worked in hospitality management and development helping several establishments launch and thrive for over 15 years in the Temecula and San Diego areas. After studying Biology at SDSU, Matthew is currently seeking a degree in Business Administration.
Outside the office, Matthew loves anything and everything sports related and is an avid golfer, hiker, and swimmer. When not enjoying the outdoors, he loves to cook, travel, go to concerts, or spend time with his family and close friends.
